This is my first post regarding certain questions that I recieve in the mail, and I will try to do posts like this for interesting questions:
Q: I recieved a question about buying a Casio 5600C on ebay, and if it would be a good choice to buy a certain 5600C on ebay, that already had the bezel screws removed but not inlcuded.
A: The 5600C screws are not very easy to find, but not impossible. The thing that one should actually be more worried about is why the screws are not included, and if the watch is being sold because a bezel screw was broken.
By looking at the pictures on ebay, there was no indication of any problem when viewing the pictures that were taken of the front of the DW-5600C.
In one of the side pictures there was visibly something in one of the screw holes, and was probably the lower part of a broken bezel screw.
These bezel screws break fairly easily on these old watches, and should not be removed unless you are willing to have them break inside the watch case. When they break they are very difficult to impossible to remove, even for trained watchmakers.
So if you see a 5600C on ebay without the bezel screws, make sure it does not have broken screws inside the watch case.
Here you can see a 5600C with all four bezel screws (close to the strap)
